SSM! Redesigns ZSA ZSA ZATURNNAH

Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah by Carlo Vergara published by Carverhouse Creations.
Considered by critics and readers as a tour de fource among recent crop
of Filipino comic books, it tells the story of the homosexual and cynical
Ada, owner of a beauty salon. Apart from gaining superhuman abilities
from a stone that fell from the heavens, she also transforms into the
voluptous Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah who defends his hometown from otherworldly creatures.

Ok and now back to us!
Our story would pretty much follow the same set-up with the original work but
would later present itself with some alternate twists and turns towards the end.

Our tale starts off with ADA. Minding his own business and calling it a day and
closing his shop. Then a vagrant would ask for a free haircut. Although quite
reluctant at first but seeing that he did had a good day and all, he was happy to
oblige. And in true Filipino Komiks tradition, the vagrant turns out to be
some wish granting djinn named GENII SANTOS
(Ok, that was lame. Lame,YES but very funny, YES-YES!)

Knowing of his secret identity and rather than just granting wishes.
The genie presented Ada with choices he could choose from to change his future.
One such choice would be that he could be a straight guy with all of his powers intact.
Or to be a real girl with no powers but no longer dependent on the stone
to transform.
Our real girl depiction of Zaturnnah is also a homage to yet another CARVER creation
this time in the form of MS. VENUSA HAWKS.

Our story would pretty much revolve around the pro and cons of having and not
having powers. Living a simple but happy life or choosing to live life in the edge.
We haven't wrote anything down yet, so the ending(or anything else is for that matter) would pretty much stay a mystery.
But given the chance, we'd be more than happy to collaborate with Sir Carver himself, just to get the feel and the look of the story right. He looks friendly and more than accommodating and we'd bet our asses that he's a blast to work with.
So that's about it.
SSM!, over and out!

SSM! Redesigns ELMER.

Elmer by Gerry Alanguilan, published by Komikero Publishing.
The original story speaked of an alternated earth where chickens
have acquired the ability to think like human beings.
Pushing for equal rights to be among browns, blacks and whites.
Amidst all these, is Elmer's family who struggles to survive in this complicated,
dangerous yet beatiful world.

And now back to the good part!
Our reimagining still follows the same talking chickens routine but taking
place in a post apocalyptic setting where birds and similar beings
have enslaved mankind. Think of it as MAD MAX meets WALLACE & GROMIT. Or a typical episode of HOKUTO NO KEN (Fist Of The North Star).

The overall serious overtone would be disregarded and our version (read:sillier/surreal-er version)
would simply focus on elmer; a now unemployed(due to the apocalypse)
punk rocker fighting his way within the
desolate and barren landscape of... NEW MANILA, perhaps. We dunno yet but yeah that name sound's
about right...

It's your standard beat-the-crap-out-of people/birds and animal story.
A kind of storytelling that Sir Gerry would most definitely and strongly disapprove of but
YEAHHH that's how we chose to reinvent the old elmer.
Not that it needs reinventing to begin with.

SSM! Redesigns TRESE.

So this is TRESE as re-imagined by the folks at SSM!
NOW, we haven't read a single page of TRESE so that makes
us like "THE PERFECT" group to do this re-imagining hullabaloo.

These redesigns/re-imaginings are unofficial and unrelated
to the actual characters from the series and were merely
done out of respect and pure admiration. Any similarities
to existing story lines and designs were purely coincidental.

So here are a few of our very own ideas for a prequel or an entire
alternate universe if you may.

First off we give you a KID TRESE named DOSE.*snerk*

Then she gets kidnapped by cybernetically enhanced cyclopean kapres.
Which would turnout to be hollow shells (under a magical trance) thus are actually rideable weapons of destruction. Thus ignites her passion for the occult and gives her that fearless attitude we all knew and love.

Now the KAMBALS shouldn't even look human or even blood related.
They should be like TWINS IN ACTION.
Kinda like the DOUBLE DRAGON Brothers.

The other one should've been a policeman,
while the other should've been a tandem criminal.

Yeah, the blondie
would die some generic death as to still go with the whole TWINS equation.

Cliche as it may seem that's the way we would've made them met each other.

Now we all knew about the iconic masks that the KAMBALS wore althroughout the
TRESE franchise. But there should also be like a village elder as to whom
they got their mask from.Enter APOLAKI.
And turns out those masks were made out of some special NGA-NGA.
The nga-nga is indestructible and uncorruptible by dark magic.

So that's about it. Those are the only one we could come up with on such
a short notice.Stick around folks as we redesign yet another set of character
from a familiar franchise. But until then, keep those pencils sharp and
KEEP ON DRAWING!
