Combat Boots

As promoted here: https://silentsanctummanga.blogspot.com/2018/12/the-combatribes.html
And now you're here!

We've finally arrived at the moment we've all been waiting for.
It might have took us 20 years but it was well worth the wait.
For we are finally getting the definitive ending to our beloved 90's icon, Combatron.
The one true ending as drawn by Mr. Berlin H. Manalaysay himself.
So no guest artists, no fake reboots, just everything else as drawn by him and him alone.
So here are a few of the non-spoiler images from the new book.
For those that were expecting maybe an omnibus type of book,  you are sorely mistaken.
That project is currently in the works and your best alternative is rereading chapters 1-3 over at
Project Combatron.

A book signing event that took place last Dec. 8, 2018.
(Yeah, we're definitely behind our scheduled blog posts. But yeah,whatever....)
At the Activity Center of Glorietta 4.
Right pass this massive gathering of MTG nerds errr competitive players pala, jowk lang. Peace tayo!
The signing was graced by both young and young at heart fans alike.
All of which were and would be fans of our favorite Space Warrior.

The Combatron card game which debuted at this year's Komiket was also being sold
at the event. Side by side Mr. Manalaysay's table, no less.

And yes, there was the promised "Pre-Order" table,
offering a hassle free access to those that have ordered online.
The real line is at Mr. Berlin's table. For he is nothing but hospitable/accommodating and offers nothing but the absolute in fanboy/fangirl experience.
I actually arrived quite early for this signing.
Way too early, actually!
Imagine that!
For I was under the impression that the Sunday line might be a whole lot longer that the Saturday ones and that the comic book might EVENTUALLY be sold out by then.

But alas, fears aside. We INTERGALACTICALLY made it!
In addition to having my komik envelope and actual komik book signed.
I also had my last batch of Combatron FKs signed as well.
Two of which were my absolute favorites.
I also had my Bracagon
and
Death Metal/Armorgeddon fanarts signed as well.
Because I dunno,  that's just what we did some ol' 3 years ago.
So there, the new book is quite good actually.
It is a very Mega Death centric issue to say the least.
There were a few minor gripes here and there but these were mostly layout and editing related.
Most of which we probably have to address in a latter blog entry but the art remains to be top notch and showcases Sir Berlin's more mature sense of story telling.
It reaches a somewhat biblical and quasi-religious level but is still the same Combatron story that we all knew and love.

And plot twist, this is not the end!
There's an actual part 2 to this ending by 2019.
And we will all be looking forward to that by then.

And that about does it for this particular blog entry! Catch us again on our next entry as we dissect this hot topic even further. So stay tuned, fellow Space Warriors!
