Little Annie Fanny by Harvey Kurtzman.
LAF raised the sexual ante to near pornography while playing
up art and situations as burlesques in both sense of the term.
Fanny was of course modeled after another famous comic book
character called LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE.
The series first appeared in the prestigous Playboy in October 1962.
It ran up untill 1993.
Will Elder was the artist from the start,
assisted by artists like Russ Heath and Frank Frazetta (idol!).Annie's salacious exploits combined traditional good-girt art
with outrageous sexual situations worthy of the host magazine.
Although LAF ultimately wore out her welcome with Playboy readers,
numerous reprint collections have kept her flame burning -a not-quite-sexual innocent looking innocence in a sexual world.
