Wrestling Tunes

Due to the popularity (not really!) of this one post we made several weeks ago:
https://silentsanctummanga.blogspot.com/2021/01/gibrowker-t.html

We've decided to find a few more songs named after wrestlers. Some were pretty good, while some have pretty much nothing to do with the wrestler they were named after. Some might even feature the wrestler themselves appearing in the music video. So in no particular order, here were a few of them.

Hall Of Fame:

Bowling For Soup  - Alexa Bliss.
Wrestler referencedAlexa Bliss.
RelevanceAlexa herself appeared in this Weird Science inspired music video. Twisted Bliss and Sleeperhold were mentioned in the song. Larry Steve also appeared in the video. There was also a scene in a wrestling ring and that's good enough for us!
Wyclef Jean, The Rock, Melky Sedeck  - It Doesn't Matter.
Wrestlers referenced: The Rock, Ivory(???).
Relevance: The Rock appeared in this music video. Ivory was also mentioned but that was probably just a coincidence. His catchphrase was also used as the title of the song. He also fought someone in a bar and it was pretty awesome.

Wale ft Skyzoo - Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Wrestlers referencedHacksaw Jim Duggan, Freddie Blassie, Bobby Lashley, Mick Foley, Heartstopper (wrestling move)
Relevance: I'm taking everything I said before back. This was indeed a great wrestling-related song. Other than it being danceable. Hacksaw Jim Duggan was referenced repeatedly. Be it for his
catchphrase or his 4x4. Othe wrestlers were also very casually referenced. Wale is indeed
an awesome wrestling fan.

Wale - Razor Ramon Freestyle.
Wrestler referencedRazor Ramon, The Kliq, Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair, Big Boss Man, Hornswoggle, Sin Cara, Rick Rude, Jake The Snake Roberts, CM Punk, Go To Sleep, Pipebomb, Curtis Axel, Curt Henning, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, Umaga, Gangrel, IC Title Chyna, Papa Shango, Ricky Steamboat, Rusev, "Too Sweet", Heath Slater, Raw, Dwayne Johnson.
Relevance: Simply incredible! This song also sampled Razor Ramon's entrance theme music.

Insane Clown Posse  - Chris Benoit.
Wrestler referencedChris "The Crippler" Benoit.
Relevance: This song was sadly about the Benoit family tragedy. The lyrics
referenced Chris' temporary loss of sanity resulting in his immeasurable regret.
The music video had ICP performing in an underground-ish wrestling ring, featured a blacksmith with a wrestling belt (with little hints of  Pegasus Kid) and flashes of  the wrestler's studio photo could be seen when his name is mentioned.

Kiko Machine - Royal Rumble.
Wrestler referencedHulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Di Biase, Jake "The Snake" Roberts.
Relevance: The cream of the crop that rises to the top. Appropriately titled Royal Rumble.
The song perfectly captures the rules and mechanics of the said PPV. It doesn't get any more wrestling-er than this!

Hall Of Shame:

21 Savage, Offset, Metro Boomin  - Ric Flair Drip.
Wrestlers referencedRic Flair.
Relevance: Other than appearing in the video, doing his catchphrase and the occasional "woos" the song had nothing to do with the legendary Ric Flair

Surprisingly enough, this wouldn't be the first or only song about the Nature Boy.

CamRon (Feat. Vado)  - Ric Flair.
Wrestler referencedRic Flair.
Relevance: You get a couple of "Woos" and that's pretty much it.

Killer Mike  - Ric Flair.
Wrestler referencedRic Flair.
Relevance: There were a couple of Ric Flair promos shown on the side of buildings.
Again, the lyrics had nothing to do with Ric Flair. I'm beginning to think that all of these
Ric Flair songs are merely referencing his cool/confident wrestling persona and not his in-ring prowess.

King L -Val Venis.
Wrestler referenced: Val Venis.
Relevance: Not even a single "Hello Ladies", Saxophone solo or any sleazy porn reference.
This was disappointingly not wrestling related.

Action Bronson - Barry Horowitz.
Wrestler referencedBarry Horowitz.
Relevance: Other than that line about "patting himself on the back", the song had nothing to do with Barry Horowitz. Not wrestling related.

The Cenobites (Kool Keith & Godfather Don) - Lex Luger.
Wrestlers referenced: Lex Luger, The Undertaker and The Ultimate Warrior.
RelevanceNot wrestling related. It has a nice beat but sadly it was not wrestling related.
