Retro Rolls Royce

As always, this would be the pull list of everything we've bought from the previous event that we've just blogged about.
And just in case you're some lazy fuck, here is that blog entry again:
https://silentsanctummanga.blogspot.com/2019/08/retrocalifragilisticexpialidocious.html

This was a relatively humble shopping cart since we were practically shopping on a tight budget.
Nothing too expensive or over the top as of the moment.
Sorry, dahil hindi pa kami sumu-sweldo.

Anyhoo, the first item that is front and center is, of course, a controller.
And although it might sort of resemble a Playstation controller, it is simply a USB controller.
We've been meaning to buy one for the longest time and since CD-R King stopped their operations some 1-2 years ago, we had to find cheaper alternatives than those readily available elsewhere.

We can finally play our SFV
and Tekken 6 properly
( It takes a machine to defeat a machine, Thank you Save-Load State!)
with these comfortable joypads.
And just in case you were wondering, this is where we got our USB controllers.
All that for just P99.00 , Imagine that!
We foolishly forgot to ask for a calling card. Gosh darn it all!

We also got these two SNES Cartridges at P100.00 each.
We got Mario Paint (because, I mean, C'MON! Why the hell not?????) but also because we sincerely hope that we could play this balls hard mini-game in the future
The Sim City 2000 one was an excellent purchase since it was neatly wrapped in a resealable plastic.
And I'm no expert collector but I'd assume that as long as the copper contacts
are clean/visible, the games would remain intact and hopefully work in the future.

We also got a Teen Titans Go! comic book (to be given to away to a student later on).
And the best purchase of the day:
This Batman Beyond animated series guide by DK Books as written by Scott Beatty.
And just like most DK Encyclopedias.
This was a comprehensive collection of brief reviews and synopses
of every future criminal to had ever plague Neo-Gotham.
And also hurray for Big Barda.
Our favoritest Jack Kirby creation both from the past, present and the future.
We are all fans of this show,
and it was absolutely incredible to be able to read even further about the Batman Of The Future.

Join us again on our next blog entry as we discuss yet another side detour we took before we went home.

You've probably seen us blog about this place before but as always, it is always worth the 4th and 5th revisit.

Retrocalifragilisticexpialidocious

RGCP or the Retro Gamers & Collectors Philippines group recently held their 6th Anniversary event over at Victory Central Mall at Monumento.
Hosted by Retrogamerph Store.
And as recommended by Senor Benj. Thanks, maaang!

Not entirely sure if they were the same organizers at Retro Gaming Expo (which took place early this year over at Fishermall).
But either way, this was the closest event to ever took place within our general area(Q.C. North Area).
The closest one was a PICCA event at SM North Edsa which was held some good 9 years ago.
Thanks, Macoy!
But I wasn't able to go to THAT event so that doesn't count, I guess?

True to name/theme of this convention.
This was indeed an event for retro gamers and collectors alike.
Game cartridges and controllers do rule the event.
Free plays on consoles like the Nes, Snes, N64Dreamcast, and Playstation.
Games spotted on these TVs:
SuperMario Bros, Power Stone, Tekken 3, Super Smash Bros.
and our personal favorite Street Fighter II Turbo.
There was also an on-going raffle, Super Smash Tournament and (what we could only assume is) a Dance Dance Revolution exhibition upon our arrival.
The tiangge area was also a highlight for the event.
Considering the limited floor space of the Victory Mall, the organizers were able to keep the exhibitors as diverse as possible.
Merchandises weren't simply limited to video game-related toys and figurines.
Naka-quota na siya. Ang saya ni kuya o!

There were also anime figurines,
comic book related figurines,
and surprisingly enough, comic books.
Don't have the budget to buy anything?
Don't fret
because there will always be something for everyone.
Kung kaya't, huwag ka ng choosy!
OY!

All in all this was a fun lil' event.
The venue and the time (10am-7pm) was an excellent choice as well.
And we sincerely hope that we could attend the next event as well.
Hence, congratulations and happy 6th anniversary, RGCP!
More power to you guys and stay awesome....
