We had to lower the volume and maybe sing some of the parts in hopes of not getting "Copystrikes" or "Copyright Notices".

But bahgawd, 

it worked!

The only notice we got so far was from the 6cyclemind parts with uninterrupted music.

So it's the late 90's and early 2000's, what local comic books could you possibly collect besides tagalized
Marvel Comics, Funny Komiks, Pugad Baboy and Pupung?

Wait! TAGALIZED, you say?
Weh, di nga!

Well anyways, for starters you could always try Alamat Comics.

Now, we must stress that we really don't have a legendary "DANRY LIKE" collection to brag about for the only other Alamat book we had at the time was this one:

We've also wanted to try ANGEL ACE.

But was quite reluctant to do so at the time, for we never really knew what the interior pages looked like and was too busy collecting something else.

So the book in itself was billed to be "THE LAST BATCH 72 STORY",which would be
such a shame since this would eventually be our very first book from the said title.

And no, the book didn't come with random strands of Gummy Worms, that's just something we did for Instagram purposes. Food and komiks....Sure, it's a weird combination  but you just had to go with the flow.

The interior art would be done by none other than Mr. Arnold Arre (After Eden, 
Trip To Tagaytay) of TALA Studios and Arvie Villena.

Also worth mentioning is that the colors for the cover were done by Ian "Agimat " Sta. Maria (Skyworld).

And back cover art by both Arnold Arre & Kajo Baldisimo (Trese).

Such names that would later on be staples of various Komikons in the years and years to come.
And sadly enough, we wouldn't be the first owner of this very book. For it once belonged to
a girl named: Jenny.

Nobody knows for sure....

Morgue would undeniably be our favorite character.

Him and quite possibly, Dr. Kadiliman

(whom was a collaborative character by David Hontiveros, Budjette Tan and Arnold Arre) whom we mistakenly speculated to be Adolf Hitler.

I guess the whole "Infamous World War II Super-Villain" tagline was a bit misleading.

Now, weren't COMPLETELY oblivious to the series, for we actually
knew a few names like Brown-out, Kadi and Astig.

This was mainly due to the C3CON booklet we had at the time.

Speaking of which, C3Con would very well be our very first exposure to the whole convention
scene.
Prior to this, we only knew titles as shown/fed to us by mainstream media/publications.

We started out as noobs/ NBS bookworms, for that was the ONLY go-to place at the time.
There weren't any Fully Booked or Powerbooks in sight.
Sure, there were a handful of FILBAR'S but most of which were a bit too far from where we lived and studied at the time.

And basically, ANYWHERE outside of our standard route (Bahay-School, School-Bahay) was deemed "too far away".

WHAT IS THIS MEGAMALL YOU SPEAK OF???

Commuting was a scary adventure and there wouldn't be any Waze or Google Maps that could
eventually guide you back home.

The very first thing that immediate came to our mind was that " BA'T SILA MAGAGALIT E TOTOO NAMAN A!". It doesn't take a POL MEDINA JR. to reach to that kind conclusion because everyone's aware of it. Not only at exclusive colleges but even at public schools as early as elementary even.
The problem resides most probably after the strip namedropped the name of the school rather than leaving it anonymous. Either way this should actually serve as a wake-up call rather than something that deserves legal action or unnecessary sanctions. If all else, Sir Pol should have even been given an award for being HONEST and BRAVE enough to tackle these issues while others would most definitely shy away from.

Again, topics like RELIGIOUS feelings are being thrown in the mix when the ACTUAL topic was GAY+LESBIAN relationships.It's actually that old-fashioned provincial thinking that hinders our development as a member of the said community and lowers the standard of komiks to a mere child's storybook. It is through comedy that we break the ice and we break the silence on topics like these. Pol Medina Jr. should've been spared from all these non-sense and legalities.What we need right now are more PMJR. and a lot less of THIS guy!

We need intelligent, thought-provoking materials.
And there's never enough of that nowadays.
And we are more than thankful he graces our annual KOMIKON.
So please, if you've been a PB fan( like we do) since...ever please help sign the petition reinstating Sir Pol @ PDI.

In an actual statement from his official facebook page, Mr. PMJR. only had this to say.

And once more, it's very exciting that the  DANGEROUS DAYS of KOMIKS are back with a vengeance but then again it's at the expense of Sir PMJR. 's illustrious career and good name. We are currently having mixed emotions about it but mostly we are glad that we had something to fight for. Komiks are no mere child's picture book and are as dangerous as the NOLIs and the EL FILIs of the ancient times.

Because KOMIKS should be dangerous again and that's exactly why we're still here!

Soooo here's a salute to Mr. Medina and the monster he had created.

SSM! staff and management couldn't even been prouder that we've actually been following the RIGHT person all this time.
Keep fighting the good fight Sir Pol at inuulit po namin, CONGRATS sa inyong much deserved na TV Appearance.
